Anastasios, I don't think you've actually said anything yet, so it seems a little rough to accuse someone of egotism when all they are trying to do is point out that our species-wide knowledge of neurons does not amount to nil.
Sorry for simply counter-flaming, but as I was trying to type up my perception of Alan's idea in order to prevent this post from being *more*than a counter-flame (and support Arets' factual point of view), I realized that my knowledge of how brains work is entirely insufficient to add anything useful to the potential discussion.
