PS One can extend what I was saying - a real world agent lives in an UNSTRUCTURED world with UNSTRUCTURED environments and has UNSTRUCTURED activities - and therefore necessarily collects information in an UNSTRUCTURED way - the bulk of his internal “world” will be an “unstructured world wide web” of information reflecting the real (and now informational) world wide webs outside his brain if you examine your heads, this is the obvious reality - “what is your marriage like?” “what were your early years at school like?” “what are your career plans?” “what is your AGI project about?” “what is science about?” “what is scientific method”? “how would you improve funding for AGI/poverty/ crime prevention in urban areas/ limiting the power of SIG’s ...? take any aspect or department of real world life, and you will find you do not have a ready, systematically organized account of it or ways of thinking about it if you are asked to give a neat account of any aspect of yourself or indeed the world at large, you will have to disorganizedly collect information before you can produce a reasonably organized answer This is the inevitable reality for any agent – any AGI – that is designed to deal with the real world. Overwhelmingly their life, external and internal, will be relatively UNSTRUCTURED and DISORGANIZED. Those parts of its – or human – life that are STRUCTURED - like the world of apps/narrow AI programs – are islands in a messy sea - just as the world-wide web of information is a mainly unstructured affair with only odd islands of organized networks. So real world reasoning is about EXPLORING an UNSTRUCTURED WORLD of information (both inside and outside the real world agent’s brain) as opposed to SEARCHING a STRUCTURED SPACE of information. Narrow AI agents/algorithms live in perfectly structured environments, both phyical; and informational, and have perfectly structured stores of information for dealing with them. But AGI (or that which distinguishes AGI from narrow AI) is – here as always – the OPPOSITE of narrow AI.,
