Like I said before, I've played it several times F2F where voting is instantaneous and simultaneous (thus effectively private), and it works fine there, though the delay in translating to e-mail is rather annoying. Note that, in both situations, you can /say/ you're going to vote a certain way (but it may turn out that you were lying, or that you legitimately changed your mind) so it's just another level of potential deception.
