You are still distinguishable from the player who has generally been known as ehird in the recent past. Rule 1586 is entirely uninvolved; you and (the "real") ehird are both entities that exist independently of the game, you merely have various game-defined attributes. > Twelve seconds after this message is sent, I declare my name to be Turiski. This doesn't work. Rule 478 says "Any action performed by sending a message is performed at the time date-stamped on that message", and no rule says otherwise. You might argue that you performed this action by /having sent/ a message, but if it's an action that the game actually "cares" about, then it most likely runs afoul of Rule 2125; in particular, if the rules say it CAN be performed by announcement, then R2125(c) prevents performing it by any non-rules-defined method. > Second, I argue that my CFJ causes my message to express "clear desire > or intent to register," which would therefore make me a player. This doesn't work, either. Rule 591 allows any first-class person to initiate an inquiry case, even if e is not a player (this was changed specifically to avoid "this case's existence is ambiguous because the caller's playerhood is ambiguous" situations). However, the overall message (including this claim) may be interpreted as clearly expressing desire.
