Hey Christoff;

-Apologies for being somewhat unclear apparently. I really don't have the time
to get involved in a full-blown project like this. I'm happy to share my code
and experiences for finding and fixing bugs but I personally don't have the
time I'd care to spend on fixing them myself or doing the coding that needs to
be done for this project to continue.

Any coding that I do is something that will happen basically when I have the
occasional inspiration and time for it. So other than that, if you're looking
for a partner for a full-blown project, -without any cash incentive it'll need
to be someone other than me. :) For me to be willing to commit more time to
this, I'd need paid compensation. -Sorry but it's just simple as that. If
anyone feels they'd like to contribute in this regard, then please, by all
means, contact me!…

Andre has been more than kind enough to offer web space for me to host the JQ
mods as I've done. so for that I truly thank him! Andre you totally freaking
rock! :)

So Christoff, I'll help you out how ever I can sharing my experiences with
working with the code but not doing the actual coding / rewriting as I think
this is a huge undertaking.

Perhaps I can do the occasional bit as I said above, but this really is sort of
a few and far-between thing. :)

I'm sorry if I misunderstood and as far as us being out of touch, we seem to
keep missing each other on Skype, and I've also been very, very busy.…

I will say this though, I do believe I'm closer to figuring out the issues with
the number of sounds able to be loaded through the engine, as well as the
problem with the latest release where the client can't seem to download sounds
and models from the server.

However, since I can't figure out how to compile this particular project in
XCode or terminal, I can't experiment with these ideas to find out…

Anyway, hope all this makes sense and I'll continue to check the list as well.

Thanks for reading and do have a lovely evening!…

Smiles,

Cara :)

Hi Bryan,

I absolutely know you are right. You are, because of all the reasons you told
us, and also because the rebuilding of AQ would take too much time. My first
idea was to rewrite everything in C++, but it would take about one or two
years, with an unsure result. So, for me, AQ is not the future of the
accessible FPS, but I'd love to maintain what I can in it, we all can play even
with bugs we cannot fixe. For me, it just is a question of fun, I want to be
able to play with my friends a game that I am playing for years. If there is no
way to devlope it as faster as in the past, at least we can try to maintain it,
by fixing little bugs as I am trying to do it right now.

About Cara, I don't know if you've raid the last mails we posted, but simply I
am surprized not to receave answers from her because she had said she was gonna
work with me on a new JQ release. Will see that with her.

Ryan please, can you send me your packs? I mean, all the packs you use, because
I also am changing some of the AQ sounds, to improve their quality or logic. By
the way, here the problem cannot come from the sounds limits, because simply,
the systems says "file not found", as for the models.
Oh and also, can you tell me which program you are using to build / edit pak
files? I am currently using PakScape, but it is not the most accessible soft
I've ever used... ;)

Take care,
Christoff
