Hi Kris, as far as coding I've got very little experience, and with
the sp maps I've just looked for walkthroughs of the maps so that I can
understand how to look for thing like secrets and shootable switches
etc. What I've discovered, is that in some cases there are switches
that open doors that are high enough that you have to jump up to get
the indicator to let you know it's there. Then you've got to shoot it,
and then get up there again to get into the room before it closes. An
example of this is when you are in the first sp map and you go into the
room with the exploding container. After killing everything in that
room, according to a walkthrough, with the entrance behind you to the
south, there's a leg that you walk onto, and there's a spinning glope
ornament on the north wall high up, which is what you have to shoot.
If you jump up you'll hear the door indication sound and you just shoot
it with your shotgun. You'll hear the door open, and if you're lucky,
you can get in, grab the quad damage that is there and jump back down
before it closes. if not, you can still shoot the door, and it will
open and you can get out, but you may end up in a different place on
the map, as there are two different ways to get to that door. Very
confusing, and I've not figured it out yet, but I think I can set a
marker there and try to get in from both ways to see if it's the same
room. I think it is though. Oh, by the way, I've got my server up,
and I solved the other download issue it was having, but I think it may
have been you that requested my little slope mod, if so can ya send me
yer e-mail address so I can send it to you directly and not clutter the
list with the attachment? It's not very big. The coding I didn't do,
just basically cut and pasted from the JQ source code.
Sorry for writing a book, talk to ya latgers though... Cheereo!
