Cannot understand what you mean by Kindle serial number. What you need to register Kindle app of PC to your kindle account is your mail ID or phone number associated with your amazon account and the amazon password. You could try logging in to this account on amazon web site and use forgot password feature to re-set your account password.
Use this changed password on the kindle for PC application to get access to the books that you have purchased from Amazon Kindle.
