Hi Hasitha & MetCat Team, The project is very encouraging and complementary to Airavata features. I have many homework tasks for your team, please read through. Since your team has a goal to donate the code to airavata and integrate it with existing components (which we very much welcome), please demonstrate open community development right from the start. So as much as possible, please use Airavata Mailing lists and JIRA to track your project so the community can provide input and make insightful comments.
The name MetCat sounds good. I went ahead and created a google code project under Apache Extras [1]. The project URL is - http://code.google.com/a/apache-extras.org/p/metcat/. I added all your team members and the Airavata Developers you have interacted with as project owners. So please take it away from here and administer the project. Please check in existing code into MetCat repository. I added google code setting to send commit emails to airavata-commit mailing list but that doesn't seem to work. You may have to create a google groups and add every one interested in receiving commit notifications. Your google document on over all description and milestones are very good. I created a space on Airavata Wiki [2], can you please import all current content here and further keep maintaining this wiki space? You will first have to signup for the wiki account [3] and send us your cwiki user names. Also, I created an umbrella JIRA issue [4], please create sub tasks for this Epic and track your project on Airavata Wiki itself so we can guide you better. Looking forward for MetCat to be incorporated into Airavata code base and all of you earn Airavata Committership/PMC membership.
