For learning with Cassandra, I also strongly recommend picking up ccm
<https://github.com/pcmanus/ccm> -- it makes it *vastly* easier to run a
local Cassandra pseudo-cluster on your machine, and works quite well for
akka-persistence-cassandra development and testing.
