i'm speaking without direct knowledge as i've never seen a 76' housing however
if the diameter of the shaft upon which the bearing rides is'nt the same as
the new bearing design that would be the only diffrence and if it is the same
there shouldn't be a problem to install the new style.the housing shouldnt be
any diffrent in such a case.

In my Alfetta GT there is a bearing going out inside the clutch housing,
making a terrible rattle when the car is idling, and my mechanic tells
me that my car (built in 1976) has an early version of the housing with
a large bearing outside and a smaller one inside, apparently making the
noise. We would like to replace the housing with the later version that
has large bearings at both locations. Does anyone out there in Alfaland
have such a part? We could, of course, simply use the existing housing
and replace the bearings in kind, but the upgrade would be nice if possible.
