i'm speaking without direct knowledge as i've never seen a 76' housing however if the diameter of the shaft upon which the bearing rides is'nt the same as the new bearing design that would be the only diffrence and if it is the same there shouldn't be a problem to install the new style.the housing shouldnt be any diffrent in such a case.
