Would anyone like to provide any tips on cleaning/preparing the cylinder head mating surfaces? I've never actually done a headgasket before, unless you count my Opel GT, but it hasn't actually run since we rebuilt the motor... nine years ago.

Unless someone offers me a good used head cheap, I guess I'm going to put this thing back together and see how poorly it runs. I can't realistically justify the expense of any kind of valve job, nor can bring myself to scrap the car just yet.
