Well, I spent the morning looking at this. I cannot see any obvious difference
between the "do you want to save" dialog and the "Select Exit Help" one. What
I have found is that ABI 6 allows to have color pairs above 256. I guess that
change triggers this issue. But I cannot tell where.

I think I found a difference. At some place in menubox.c, there is a call to
wbkgdset (which sets the background character). In yesno.c, there is no such
call. Actually preceding the "print_buttons" call with wbkgdset(dialog,0)
restores the normal behavior. I now have to test that it is OK with the old 
ABI...


This seems OK for the old ABI too. Fixed (hopefully) at r3827.
