Winamp comes with several plugins/components pre-installed. To be honest I can’t remember all the ones I uninstalled. Some were things like CDDB for identifying CD’S that no longer work. Likewise "Now Playing" and "History" in the Library. Also under General Purpose/Plugins all the one’s relating to third party media devices such as Apple , Android and thumb drives. I don’t think uninstalling these will make Winamp load faster but I think it makes it less prone to crashing. As I already said the culprit I know about is the SQRSoft Crossfader. If you don’t have that then I’m sorry but I don’t know what the cause is.

Hi what all did you remove from winamp to make it load faster? Just so maybe others that it loads slow for can see if they have any of that stuff and then maybe they could get rid of it. Then maybe it would make there winamp run faster for them as well. -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of John Gurd via Groups.Io Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2018 1:04 PM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] Winamp very slow to load. Have you installed the SQR Crossfader by any chance? I know someone who did that and Winamp takes at least a minute or two to load. I use Winamp and it loads straight away. I did take the time to remove a lot of features from Winamp that no longer work or are redundant. Hi all, Running windows10 home. Winamp seems to take over a minute to load when playing mp3 files. If I open the same file using groove music or another program it opens instantly. Have removed winamp and reinstalled again with the same result. No plugins are installed in winamp. Have temporarily disabled anti virus with the same result. Any ideas?
