Yeah, that's not normal; you seem to be having a conflict of some kind on your 
system. What I would do is try disabling stuff like programmes that run at 
startup and stay in background and see if the problem goes away. A fresh 
install fo winamp could also help. Maybe the problem could be caused by a 
broken winamp plugin as well. Disable unneeded plugins and see if the problem 
goes away. You will probably want all the output plugins as they are, but 
definitely some of the others are probably unnecessary to you.

Actually, maybe II wouldn't mind getting the update reminder; what I _do_ mind 
is that doggone error message; then it says something as to something has 
crashed (is it Crash reporter? Right now, I just don't know!

In general preferences, tab to check for updates and uncheck it. I have it 
unchecked and never get that reminder.
