Hey. That does seem unlikely. The changelog I posted in the last message didn't say anything about that. I could upgrade to 5.92 from 5.91 and see what happens, but differences between winamp versions are minuscule, especially with such a small increment (5.91 to 5.92).

It might look different, but I think that is because of a setting, not because of a change in the programme as such. If you're curious, here's the whatsnew for 5.92. it's all internal stuff to do with the different modules of the programme, as well as something to do with one of the skins that we don't use. Winamp 5.9.2 [Apr 26 2023] * New: [ml_fanzone] Connect to the online Winamp Fanzone * New: [ml_hotmix] Connect to the Hotmix Radio service * Improved: [gen_crasher] Added correct Windows 11 detection method * Improved: [ml_wire] Replace internal IE engine with Qt v5.12 engine (w.i.p.) * Fixed: Erroneous "URL: Winamp Command Handler" filetype association * Fixed: [Big Bento] Drag titlebar issue * Fixed: [Big Bento] Config overlap issue * Fixed: [ml_local] Drag to rearrange smart view order causes corruption * Fixed: [ml_playlists] Memory leaks * Misc: Added option for RC builds in Update notifications * Misc: All DLLs are now digitally signed * Misc: Many more general tweaks, improvements, fixes and optimizations * Replaced: jnetlib.w5s functions moved to new wac_network.w5s component * Replaced: dlmgr.w5s functions moved to new wac_downloads.w5s component * Updated: [jpeg] ijg-libjpeg 9e -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: February 16, 2024 6:10 PM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] Another Winamp Problem Here's what I know: this 5.92 looks different than my old Winamp; Dennis is saying he got 5.91...aw...but that isn't what's on that site! Whatever is on the winamp page is the latest one they have, and that's the one to get. There really is very little difference between any versions of Winamp. You can check the changelog, like I said, but it'll probably just sound like gibberish to you. It's all under the hood stuff pretty much an d qutie minor at that. -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: February 16, 2024 5:56 PM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] Another Winamp Problem Okay...I shut Jaws down...although I've had an occasion to restart the computer recently, thus, Jaws would have shut down then as well! So let's try some of these again; am pretty sure it told me that Winamp was in "Classic mode"...aw...but it don't look like "classic" to me! I thought Dennis said I could get 5.91 (I think that's what I really was supposed to get; aw...but it's not on that Winamp page; not as far as I can tell! Never used that keystroke either. But it appears to be working here. That is a JAWS thing though, not a winamp keystroke. The length will show in the playlist editor still though even if that thing doesn't work. After a test, it appears that alt-r function you are talking about is also a little goodie Freedom Scientific threw in. So, it sounds like your jaws winamp commands aren't working right now, or at least some of them. When was the last time you restarted jaws? You did set it to classic, right? That bar thing that you mentioned, I don't know what it is, but it's probably something that was there in older versions, too, and which got turned off. I really don't think they changed the look of Winamp at all. -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: February 16, 2024 5:32 PM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] Another Winamp Problem Okay...apparently (with this newer Winamp) one can no longer get the length of a track; used to be, you could do Insert-control-T (at least I think I'm right) and it'd tell you how long the file is; it's not working now...unless you do it differently!
