I converted the document attached to this issue to the new opendocument format, reading it in in OOo beta RC 1. Saving now takes about 70 seconds on my system. Saving the 180 page document I referred to previously (309 OLE objects, mostly Math) now proceeds as (under Windows XP, Pentium III 600 MHz, 512 MBytes of RAM) * The cursor changes into the sand runner for close to 3 minutes * The save progres bar proceeds for about 25 seconds * Ooo does not become responsive before another 25 seconds Thus, in total, saving this 180 page document takes 4 minutes 25 seconds.
