More details are needed. 

Were you able to open them one day, and then not on the next day? What happened
in between the day you could and the day you couldn't? Did you install some
software, even possibly something you didn't mean to (adware, etc)? Did you
accidentally spill coffee on the computer, even a little bit? Have you
uninstalled all versions of OOo, then reinstalled the newest version?

More detail is needed before this can be confirmed one way or the other.

I tried using Babelfish on the Spanish, and it was no help.
