To print A4 brochures from A5 sheets you need to set the printer to Landscape
mode. This facility has been removed in OOo 2 (was in the Print / Printer /
Properties / Page dialog in 1.1) so you can't print A4 brochures from A5 source
any more.

Instead you get 2 A5 sheets at 50% size next to each other in the top half of an
A4 portrait page.

I have tried creating a new printer queue with the paper set to landscape but I
get the same output. I have also tried editing the printer ppd to pretend
there's an A4Landscape page size available. This gives the correct size of text
but still across the top of an A4 portrait page. I can't think of another work
around.

Unfortunately this means I need to revert to 1.1 as I do a lot of brochure
printing.
