------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 20 23:59:53 -0800 2005 ------- My position on this: Facts: - we missed the UI deadline which is unfortunate - we can't and don't want to delay the release - the current system for merging is not able to cope very well with this Result: - we (Czech team) won't spend time on working on temporary solution like this one - we will continue working the old way (updating GSI continuously) - our latest GSI already contains all terms translated - our community build will use the GSI file that is completely translated and available just before we start the final build for 2.0.1 - I will propose the same system for vanilla soon Ideas for new system (request for comments ;-) - language teams will continue to provide GSI files as they do right now - we will merge them (continually or in steps) in child workspaces to some place in the source, so it will contain: GSI_af.sdf GSI_ar.sdf GSI_bg.sdf GSI_bn.sdf GSI_br.sdf ... - these files (only these that the user wants to build for) will be merged in *on his machine* - the UI deadline will be the same as the general cws deadline and cws GSImerge202 (e.g.) will be merged as the last one This is doable. I do it in my build system for 3 years now. It has some issues though (like "buildability", possible errors in GSI files, issues for Sun build system, etc.).
