Anyway, I am thankful that you the developers are aware of this bug. ps. KDE applications do not have this problem, but indeed I experienced an almost infinite wait (freezing the application's UI) for a never returning list of printers (CUPS was not running...) from any KDE application. So it appear they too have not worked out the perfect solution for this problem. Thanks for your effort!
