The current behaviour is the standard behaviour for a so called "Major Upgrade"
using the Windows Installer.
The following Windows Installer Standard Actions are executed successfully:

FindRelatedProducts -> this causes the appearance of the ProductCode for a short
time on the first dialog. Related proucts are found, a 2.0.1 always finds an
installed 2.0.0.

MigrateFeatureStates -> all module settings are transferred from the already
installed product to the new product. If you deselected Calc in 2.0.0, it is
also deselected in the 2.0.1 setup. This also works fine in a 2.0.1.

RemoveExistingProducts -> during the installation of 2.0.1 the old 2.0.0
installation is deinstalled. This also works fine.

I think, the only thing you miss, is something like
MigrateInstallationDirectory, which is no Windows Installer Standard Action
(because this was not planned by Microsoft). A 2.0.1 has the same default
installation directory as a 2.0.0. If you changed the installation directory
from a 2.0.0, this is currently not recognized automatically by a 2.0.1, but can
be changed manually in the Custom installation dialog. The automatic recognition
requires a Windows Installer CustomAction, that we want to introduce in 2.0.2.
