On each occasion I was doing nothing other than trying to read the document. I had not elected to show any toolbars, indeed, had not tried to configure Writer in any way. On using the Navigator to move to a selected part of the document, the toolbar appeared in a fairly central position, no amount of clicking would close it, I could not drag it or reduce it to a minimal size. Since filing the issue, I've had the same problem with the "Tables" toolbar. I cannot think of anything I've done to produce these effects. I hardly ever have reason to use Writer.
