I assume you've got a 7.5 GBytes swap space too? If tmpfs relies on swap then it
must be available, for sure. I'm not sure what happens if the system runs out of
virtual memory before the tmpfs is full. The sensible thing for a fs-driver
would be to report "disk full" in such a case, evm if the thing is only partly
filled.  Anyway, how much swap can a 32bit machine handle?

However, there isn't much advantage to build OpenOffice on a tmpfs which is not
really backed with RAM.
