That is, there is only the .mozilla/firefox and no other file/directory? I am
asking because, I do not see why your certificate is not found. On my debian it
works. What you could still try out is this:

- copy your .mozilla to a save place
-delete .mozilla
-start firefox (that will create a new .mozilla)
-import your pkcs12 file ( certificate + key) into "Your certificates" in 
firefox.
-try to sign the office document

let us know what the result is.
