Did this happen only with this doc or with others, too? No, I did not recognize a precise sequence of actions causing this prob. At first It would seem to happen at random, but of course it is probably becasue the end user cannot see the cause of the problem. As you can see, the same attached file contains dozens of other similar objects that show no anomalies, even though they were crated and edited in much the same way. Yes, this happened to me seldom in the past, always in seemingly unforeseenable instances. In all I would say this happens once every 100-120 hours of continuous work with OpenOffice (that would be every 2 months in real time). I would also say that it happens more easily when files are quite complex. Moreover, I suspect that Issue 54803 has something in common, since it was another case of ole objects wrongly swapped: in that case I copied and pasted a group of different graph objects, but I got some of them wrongly repeated, with the repeated ones taking the place of other graphs that disappeared from the group). To summarize: in rare instances there are problems in the management of objects in complex files, with probable swap of id and replacement graphics between some of them. As far as I know, there is no sure way to create such an instance purposedly. I had hoped that the corrupted file could give some hints to the root of the problem.
