------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Apr 13 11:04:14 -0700 2006 ------- The newly attached font shows the linespacing bug on linux again. As to compatibility argument: The linespacing-bug by itself is a compatibility bug (between linux and windows) Thus fixing it will change the look of old & new documents on linux, but it will fix the display only. It will not have impact on formulas, but only on normal text where symbols are taken from opensymbol. So I absolutely disagree that we should not experiment with the metrics - the opposite is the case. We should get them straight. Now is the time to fix them, since this one will replace the font and require big QA anyway. Not fixing this problem is like saying: "Documents on linux will not look the same on windows - we know that and we won't fix that" Remember that the "linebreak in justified paragraphs" behaviour was changed, modifying the look of old documents by naming it a bugfix. These kind of changes have a much bigger impact on compatibility than this one. (I can give you more examples where compatibility was sacrified/influenced) Again I ask why in Radek's font not only the values I mentioned were changed, but additional ones.
