------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Jul 2 14:21:08 -0700 2006 ------- Pentium 4, 768MB, Ubuntu Dapper (also on Breezy). After adding hspell Hebrew dictionary using File->Wizards->Install New Dictionaries, I get the following: When I open an empty document, everything is fine. If I open an existing document, or start typing a few letters in a new document, openoffice suddenly freezes and becomes unresponsive for 15-30 seconds. After that, mispellings (if exist) are marked on the text. After this happens once, I can open more documents with no problem until I quit ooo2 completely. There are no writing aids in use except hspell dictionary (Hunspell). If I choose not to check spelling while typing, I simply postpone the temporary freeze to the first time I spellcheck manually. This issue is present in my system for many weeks now, on clean installations of OpenOffice from ubuntu breezy and dapper packages (2.02 and below) and on package downloaded directly from openoffice.org (2.03).
