------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jul 4 17:23:43 -0700 2006 ------- I spend quite a bit of time going back and forth between the several different versions that I have installed to confirm/deny issues that used to work but no longer do. Do you miss Marco too? :D I'm glad to hear that there is a plan to improve the speeds but I do have 1 question. If StarDivision's code was also bloatware then why did it run SO much faster than todays code? Granted, it might have been bloated (from a coder's perspective) but it was good enough (from a user's perspective) and today's code just isn't good enough from either perspective. I'm not pissed at Sun but I wish that they left the product alone - as it ran FAST - and just added features before tearing it all apart. Just to be clear, the complaints aren't meant to be directed at the coders as I know that you do what you are told but more so toward the philosophy and direction which is clearly management's responsibility. I'm sorry to hear about your working conditions - especially when you could be watching the world cup in person and having a pint, LOL. Take care and take it easy. The comments weren't directed at you but more the company's closed philosophy and direction of the package. When I had the original packages, I thought "wow, this is great - imagine if some money were put behind it" then Sun bought it and I thought "OMG, this is going to kill MS Office" but alas there haven't been many feature additions over 6 yrs and the program runs MUCH slower than original so I feel like a deflated airbag and I don't have much, if any, enthusiasm for a project that I strongly supported in the past. I realize that this is out of your control. Keep up the good work and here's to hoping that OO catches MS Office in the next 5 yrs. MS knows how to copy and many of the features that used to be exclusive to OO are showing up in MS Off 2007. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
