User fst changed the following: What |Old value |New value ================================================================================ Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resolution| |INVALID -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Oct 9 06:14:25 -0700 2006 ------- Hi, it has nothing to do with intuitive or not. The cellformat is a setting for viewing entered values or function results. So these formattings are limited by the output of a function. In your case you've used a function giving you a string as as result. So a numberformat does not apply as a string could not be a number even if it looks like a number. So using a text operation and expecting a number as output is unlogical. So you have to make the string a value by using the value function. Closing again as invalid.
