Hi,
sorry for delay... ;)

AFAIK there was an option to use OpenOffice own dialogs ...
(under tools -> options ->general?)
To use OOos own dialogs you need to check this option...

AFAIK the described behaviour is a problem of the Windows
file-open-/save-as-dialog and every application which uses this dialog has that
problem...
Try to switch to OOos own dialogs and try again...
