2007 -------
* Open a new text document in writer (OOo2.1).
* Open a web page in Firefox (v 2.0.0.2)--for example, www.textfiles.com.
* Highlight some text (for example, the words "On the face of things") in
Firefox.
* Copy this text using ctrl-c.
* Change to the Writer document already created (I did this with Alt-Tab).
* Paste the copied text using ctrl-v.
* Error dialog appears: title bar says "OpenOffice.org 2.1". Body of error
dialog says "Requested clipboard format is not available." Dialog box has an
icon of a blue "cartoon balloon" with a white lower-case "i" in it, and may be
closed either with its "OK" button or the system close button (red with a white
X) in the upper right corner of the title bar (these are the only two clickable
options in the dialog). Alert sound is played. Text does not paste.

Same failure occurs under all combinations below:
* Copying text from other web pages (every one I've tried so far, including
www.usccb.org/nab and www.43folders.com).
* Copying text including hyperlinks as well as copying text not including
hyperlinks.
* Copying text from a web page viewed under MS Internet Explorer or a text file
viewed under Notepad.
* Copying text from a web page (viewed with Firefox or Explorer), pasting it
into Notepad, then copying the newly pasted text from Notepad.
* Copying text using Edit|Copy instead of ctrl-c.
* Pasting text using Edit|Paste instead of ctrl-v.
* Pasting text using Edit|Paste Special|HTML format or |HTML format without
comments or |Unformatted Text.

I posted this as a question on oooforum.org with the subject "Requested
clipboard format is not available". acknak replied, "Small help, but I am able
to paste the whole center column of text from that page
[www.usccb.org/nab/040107.shtml] (viewed in Mozilla Seamonkey or Firefox 1.5)
into OOo Writer (2.1) with all the formatting intact. I'm running all this on
Linux."

Thanks for any help you can provide! I'm a new user and am really enjoying
everything I've encountered with OOo, including having the ability to report
issues and believe something will actually come of it! :)
