------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Mar 12 19:00:21 +0000 2007 ------- Excel files written in MS Office 97 and 2003 are usually opened in Writer as tables, when using OOo 2.0 or 2.1. I checked the boxes under "Tools.Options.Load/Save.Microsoft Office", but saw no effect. Even when trying to open the files from Calc, they are opened as tables in Writer. One or two files do open into Calc, but I do not know why, or what is different about those files. None of the files have figures, calculations, macros..., just numbers and names. To get around this problem, I use OOo 1.1 and have no trouble opening any of the files in Calc 1.1. I have upgraded to the most recent stable version of 2.1.
