I was able to just reproduce it again, I thought maybe it had something to do w/ right-click paste as opposed to ctrl-v paste, but that's not the case. One thing that I should clarify is that the lock does not "lock" the application from closing, it just leaves the soffice processes running in the task manager and you can't use "Alt-C" (CLCL default to access history) or double click on CLCL icon in the systray to access your clipboard history until you kill the soffice.bin or soffice.exe.
