fme->kpalagin: The word count in meta.xml is taken as the current word count of
the document. If you do not modify your document, the word count is assumed to
be correct and no recalculation will take place. That optimization was
introduced with OOo 2.0.4 I think (i64985). Of course all 'invalid' word count
data will be calculated if the word count is requested (e.g., when opening the
dialog or storing the document).

fme->rrthomasrr: There's only *one* writer thread. If you have a document with a
wrong word count, the word count will not be updated if you store the document
again without modification. At least it should not. Which version do you use?
