As I mentioned in the original post, there are no error messages about the crash anywhere that I can find. I would love to use non-Ubuntu OOo; however, I can't uninstall it (apt-get remove, etc)without uninstalling many necessary packages along with it. This is one issue that I have with Ubuntu. There are several packages that are not *critical* but Ubuntu will not let you remove them without also removing many other *critical* packages on which they /do not/ depend. Unless you have a method for doing so...
