------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Mar 12 15:07:27 -0800 2005 ------- I've just installed OOo2.0 Beta (it installs as openoffice.org1.9.79) on an Intel system (Dell desktop) running Red Hat Linux 9 (kernel 2.4.20-6). Drag and drop does not work in Writer. I can highlight text with the mouse and copy/paste and cut/paste work fine from the edit menu and from the short-cut keys. When I try to drag and drop the highlighted text, the cursor does not change to the rectangle/insert symbol and the text does not move to the position where I release the mouse button. Drag and drop works fine in Impress and in Calc, and I can drag and drop into Writer from Impress and Calc, so the problem seems to be limited to within Writer. I have OO 1.0.4 and 1.1 installed as well, and I have no problem with those. I have also loaded files created with both earlier versions into 2.0 Beta and have tried drag and drop on the same sections of text that were fine in the earlier versions, to no avail. I've also tried two different mice - Logitec trackball and Wacom graphire - both of which work with the earlier versions. Again, no luck.
