"What should =A1+0 do, if A1 is text?
What should =MID(A1;1;LEN(A1))+0 do, if A1 is text?
Why does the former need to be =VALUE(A1)+0 but the latter does not need to be
=VALUE(MID(A1;1;LEN(A1)))+0?"

The answer is so easy in the context of OO calc opening an Excel document. The
answer is it should do the exact same as Excel.
