------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Feb 21 16:31:45 +0000 2008 ------- @er: At some point, OOo has to decide whether a series of characters is a number or not. What difference does it make if that point is at the time of user entry, or at the time of reading the contents of a cell? I don't see the point of flagging certain information as "do not interpret as number from now on", just 'cos it has been written to a cell. Also, please consider my previous point, why does =MID(A1;1;LEN(A1))+0 work? MID() clearly returns text, yet you can do maths with the result. My opinion is: remove the inconsistency. If OOo can interpret text as a number and do maths on it, then it should be able to do so consistently. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
