But if someone is interested in it, he/she can work on it, OOo is open source. If you get a gap between the lines, you should try changing line space from default "single" to "fixed" or "proportional". You can use "fixed" with the actual character size (you can enter for example 12pt and need not to calculate it yourself) or a little bit smaller. In "proportional" a setting smaller than 100% should remove the gap. You can use different paragraph styles for different sizes.
