- I confirm, save button is still greyed in my 2.4.0 when nothing to save :-)

My opinion on this feature:

- I discovered this Issue jumping from another recent Issue which related to
it. Very
few people are aware of this discussion. An Issue is not a good place to query
for
opinions.
Questions like this one should be explained with enough publicity in forums ( a
mailing list is also too confidential) to get back votes and suggestions from
real
users of different countries, not developers and geeks.

- on the feature itself: it will make some people happy (MS-Office addicts) and
a lot
of people unhappy. Long time users of OpenOffice will be disturbed, and there
will be
lots of Issues. This is exactly like the change of behaviour for hyperlinks :
lots of
recrimination, nobody satisfied. If you introduce this feature, add another
checkbox
in Tools > Options to defeat it.

- personnaly I prefer to stay with the greyed icon. Even if the * in the status
bar
is replaced by a "Modified". Because I look more at the top of the window than
at its
bottom.
