------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jun 13 07:16:03 +0000 2008 ------- tora->fme: Thank you for dealing with the patch. tora->hbrinkm: The patch and its shared library files are under test by the community with various versions of Microsoft Word. As of yesterday, it was found that opening a file with Word 97 had a problem. The file was originally prepared with Word 97 Japanese and loaded with Writer plus the shared library files and then saved into Word 97/2000/XP format. "Word 97-2007 Binary File Format (.doc) Specification" at [1] describes the compatibility option saying For files with nFib>217 (Word 2000, 2002, and 2003) the following was added: ... fExpShRtn uns long :1 00002000 Compatibility option: when set to 1, expand character spaces on the line ending It, however, does not explicitly mention about the same option for Word 97/98. To find out where the value of the option in the Word 97 format, the community is starting to create additional Word 97/98 files and look into them.
