If you insert a number into a cell, press enter and attempt to format the cell
after that, the cells format does not change.


1) Start Open Office writer.
2) Select table from the menu and choose insert then table.
3) Press ok to create the default table with 2 rows and two columns.
4) Type 1 in the first cell in the second row (To avoid table header 
formatting).
5) Right-click on the table and select number format.
6) Select currency in the category and select the 4th value from the format
field so that the format Code field is: [$$-409]#,##0.00;[RED]-[$$-409]#,##0.00.
7) Select ok, and the value in the field should change to $1.00.
8) Now Right click on the field again and choose number format this time
entering the value BOOLEAN in the format code field. Press ok button and verify
that the value in the field has changed to TRUE.
9) Now select the second cell in the second row (The not yet formatted cell) and
enter the value 1.
10) Right-click on the field and select number format.
11) Select currency in the category and select the 4th value from the format
field so that the format Code field is: [$$-409]#,##0.00;[RED]-[$$-409]#,##0.00.
12) Select ok and the value in the cell should change to $1.00.
13) PRESS ENTER to skip to the next line in the same cell.
14) Right-click on the field and enter BOOLEAN in the format code field. Notice
that this time that the format of the Cell does not change and the current value
remains the same.
