2008 -------
1- Open OpenOffice Writer
2- Create New Document
3- Format Columns --> 2 columns
4- Insert some text.
5- Insert a bibliographic reference: Insert -> Endnote -> type some text
6- The text will be inserted in a new page in one column.

This issue is important for writing scientific articles.
I can do it with MS-Word, but couldn't do it with the Writer.
