1.) If you don't change nothing in the cell, nothing change. For example, if you
change the '=' for '+', works fine.

2.) Changing the format, don't change the content.

3.) Evaluate numbers entered as '1, is a discussion, why must be evaluated text
in formulas?.

We need to have an open mind, inconsistencies for you, could be different for 
other.

A positive position, is very appreciated, nothing is mandatory.

The spreadsheet programs are more than thirty years old, and have a lot of
background, and millions of effort hours. I have worked with spreadsheets from
1983 beginning with '123', in a daily basis, and never find this trouble. For
me, it's a good idea, accept the rules of the programs, after read the manual
and don't fight with it, extract the possibilities of the state of the art. It's
near to impossible to think all what a spreadsheet can do.
