For example, if you change the '=' for '+', works fine. 2.) Changing the format, don't change the content. 3.) Evaluate numbers entered as '1, is a discussion, why must be evaluated text in formulas?. We need to have an open mind, inconsistencies for you, could be different for other. A positive position, is very appreciated, nothing is mandatory. The spreadsheet programs are more than thirty years old, and have a lot of background, and millions of effort hours. I have worked with spreadsheets from 1983 beginning with '123', in a daily basis, and never find this trouble. For me, it's a good idea, accept the rules of the programs, after read the manual and don't fight with it, extract the possibilities of the state of the art.
