I did following steps to reproduce this issue.
1) I opened an existing odt file (3 slides)
2) Slide Show--> Slide Show Setings are set to (Type= Window, Options
Animations allowed, Change Slides by clicking)
3) View menu entries are active
4) Clicked F5 to switch to slide show
Result:
While the slide show is active no other activity is possible until the slide
show is ended. The View menu (and all other menu entries, except open another
document or set an option) are inactive till the "End Show" is selected.
The help file contained nothing that indicated that it should be possible to
leave the slide show any other way than "End Show"
