Yes, the idea was to demonstrate that the file has no problem of saving to ODF when it's freshly reopened. (1) How was Timbreuse2.xls opened the first time in soffice (before the video begins)? It was opened as an ODF file (Timbreuse2.ods) (2) Is this part of the reproducible behavior, that the initially opened Timbreuse2.xls does not allow to save as Timbreuse2.ods, while the later re-opened one does? It's not reproducible, it just happens without any special steps or set of operations. Timbreuse2.xls was in a state that you could not save it anymore with ODF, the only export filter which was working (or tested) was the MS export filter. The standard export filter (which is also used by the autosave and gives an empty file) ODF is not working anymore.
