As I said, we improve as we can the UI to make it clear and understandable.
After a while, some errors are definitely on the side of the user.
We cannot indefinitely "mother" them with extra questions or by saving in the
background temporary information (blowing up the file system) which would
irritate other users which who read message boxes and save their work.
Beside the user friendliness and usability people have to watch out what they do
and *learn* to save documents which they want to keep.
Hours of work without saving, clicking around without reading leads exactly to
data loss. After doing that 3 times, the user should have learned about it...
