I also do not understand you.
When you say "style" do you mean paragraph styles like "Heading 1", "Text body",
"Hanging Indent", assigned from the "Styles and Formatting"-window or the drop
down list? Or do you mean character styles like "Emphasis" or "Teletype", also
assigned from the "Styles and Formatting"-window? Or do you mean an attribute
assigned by clicking on a button in the "Formatting"-toolbar?
If you mean a paragraph style, then click on "Edit Paragraph Style" in the
context menu of one instance which uses that style. Or, which works for
character styles too, open the "Styles and Formatting"-window, right-click the
style and choose "Modify". It is the essential of styles, that changing the
settings in a style will effect _all_ instances, which uses this style.
If you like to make the changes via the buttons in the "Formatting"-toolbar,
then use the item "Update style" in the "Styles and Formatting"-window to
transfer those hard formattings to the style.
