BUT to my current knowledge of typesetting it is normally ment to be part of the formula as soon as it is part of a fraction. The reason is this: variables in formulas are usually displayed in italic letters, but constants are to be displayed in upright letters. This has in most scientific textbooks the result that function names (sin, cos,...) as well as units (m, s, W, km,...) are displayed in upright letters. The easiest way to get upright letters in the OO formula editor seems to be the usage of quotation marks (I know there are different ways to achieve this, but they are too complicated for everyday use...). As a result in all my (scientific) formulas there are quoted parts of the text, that should be treated as normal part of the formula, just in upright letters. Conclusion: an implicit 'alignl' for quoted text might be useful in general. But in fractions this is annoying in my eyes, there should be an 'alignm' default behavior. Footnote: The current behavior leads to unexpected and surprising formula typesetting, that give the impression of inconsinstency, just try the following: {a+b+c+d} over {4 cdot "A"} = {a+b+c+d} over {"A" cdot 4} --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
