I am working on my thesis work in Open Office Writer and since we have to work in team and others prefer MS Office, I have to save the documents in doc format. When I do so and view my work in MS office, all the formatting get disturbed. Since I am thinking to shift to Linux OS due to security/stability issues, this compatibility problem will become more serious. Please let me know how to resolve this. If Open Office can save documents in doc format then how it is possible that file formatting get disturbed when i open in MS office ? If the filter you have in Open Office cannot successfully convert the file from .odt to .doc then why to have that option? I hope you will reply with some positive solution to this problem and will try to improve your file conversion filter. Regards, J. S.
